After completing a traditional six-year apprenticeship in Japan under my master, Mr. Kunio Kobayashi at his world famous nursery in Tokyo, Shunkaen Bonsai Museum, I returned to the UK and settled in London, creating a studio and nursery.
Since then I have travelled far and wide, teaching and working with bonsai collectors and enthusiasts across the globe on a mission to elevate the art of bonsai. Some of my work has been exhibited at the highest level in Japan, the US and Europe

About
Peter Warren
I grew up in the countryside of North Yorkshire, giving me a love for the natural world, harsh environments and the beauty of bleak deciduous landscapes. After studying Physics at University, I lived in Japan for a year, during which time I discovered bonsai. I had long had a vague interest in the art form but had never had the opportunity.
After studying at the Sunday School at Shunkaen Bonsai Museum in Tokyo under the Master Kobayashi Kunio, I travelled around for three months and found myself drawn back to bonsai. Immediately after returning home, I packed for Tokyo and became an apprentice. Attracted by the traditional method of learning, physically and through repetition, I found a niche for myself and realised that this had been what I was looking for.
Alongside learning technique and skills, I found myself on a path of aesthetic and spiritual awakening, seeing connections and beauty in places I had never dreamt of. For me the practice of bonsai is as much a spiritual one as it is horticultural or artistic.
Alongside working with bonsai, I am a published author and respected translator, regularly featuring in magazines around the world and writing a book published by DK. During my time in Japan I featured regularly on the radio and television and have become a well-known figure within the Japanese bonsai community with strong links to all the major artists and nurseries.
